When can I get Essential Scan?
Essential Scan is not on the App Store yet. When it is, this site will link to it.
Is Essential Scan free?
Yes, it will be free to download. Free reads and files up to 15 documents and includes every workflow tool. Essential Scan Pro removes the reading limit, as a monthly or yearly subscription or a one-time purchase.
Do my documents leave my device?
No. Documents and their details stay on your iPhone or iPad, and reading happens on the device. A copy leaves the app only when you choose to share or export it.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up, and Essential Scan has no ads, analytics or tracking.
Does it sync with iCloud?
No. Documents stay on the device where you added them. They are included in your own device backup if you use one.
Which devices will Essential Scan work on?
iPhone with iOS 26 or later and iPad with iPadOS 26 or later. Titles and summaries need Apple Intelligence on a supported device. A basic reader works everywhere else.
Can Essential Scan submit forms or send paperwork for me?
No. It prepares a PDF packet for you to check and share yourself. Starter checklists are suggestions, not legal or professional advice.
